Questions and Answers:
1. How do I post an ad?
The first step is to log in. If you do not want to register use User Name: guest and Password: guest. If you would like to register simply click on register and set your user name and password.
Once you are logged in, click on the section you wish to place an ad to and click ‘Submit ad’. Fill the form and click ‘ok’, then you are done.
2. How do I modify my posting?
Because we allow for guest postings, we have removed the privilege of modifying ads. This keeps people from changing other people’s ads. If you need an important modification, please e-mail us, and we will make the change.
3. How do I post without showing my contact information?
Do this by registering and when you place the ad in contact information place the term “reply to posting below”. When the person replying uses this function it generates a response to the e-mail provided when you registered, but will not allow the person replying to view your contact information.
4. What kind of postings are acceptable?
If your posting helps accomplish NCSULiving’s goal, to inform viewers so they may make informed decisions on where to live, it is acceptable. We reserve the right to make this determination.
5. Registered, but forgot your password?
To obtain your password, simply click login then click ‘I have forgotten my password, send me a new one by email!’, enter your e-mail, and the password will be e-mailed to you.
6. How do I reply to an ad?
Because we allow users to use a guest login, the most reliable way to reply to an ad is to use the information provided in the ‘Contact Info’ section of the ad.
7. Who should I expect to reply to my ads?
NCSULiving’s main target audience is college students, as you can tell from the name. We also advertise in the non-college arena, so this generates a diverse pool of viewers. Other than college students, many young professionals who work downtown or at RTP and employees of NC State view this website for housing information.
8. How much does it cost to post an ad?
This is free. NCSULiving does not charge a fee to post and ad or reply to an ad. The main goal of NCSULiving is to communicate information, and charging a fee would be a hindrance to our mission.
9. How does NCSULiving make money?
The short answer is we don’t. We have a low amount of revenue from our Google Ads, but they do not cover our cost. This purpose of this site is not to make money, it is to distribute information on housing, to allow views to make informed decisions.
